Who is Jesus?

Part Two

Jesus in Daniel and Revelation

Daniel’s Vision of Jesus – Daniel 10:4-19

John’s Vision of Jesus – Revelation 1:12-19

I looked up and there before me was a man (v 5)

I heard him speaking (v 9)

I turned around to see the voice that was

speaking to me (v 12)  someone like a “son of man” (v 13)

dressed in linen (v 5)

dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet (v 13)

a belt of the finest gold around his waist (v 5)

a golden sash around his chest (v 13)

his face like lightning (v 6)

His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance (v 16)

his eyes like flaming torches (v 6)

his eyes were like blazing fire (v 14)

his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze (v 6)

His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace (v 15)

his voice like the sound of a multitude (v 6)

his voice was like the sound of rushing waters (v 15)

I had no strength left, my face turned deathly pale and I was helpless. (v 8)

I fell into a deep sleep, my face to the ground (v 9)

trembling on my hands and knees (v 10)

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead (v 17)

A hand touched me (v 10)

he placed his right hand on me (v 17)

[The man said] “consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you ….  Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come."  (v 11-15)

[The man said] "Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place later. (v 19)

“Do not be afraid” (v 12)

“Do not be afraid” (v 19)

“Do not be afraid.” (v 17)

The conclusion:  The speaker in both passages, Daniel 10 and Revelation 1, is Jesus!

What does this have to do with Michael?  Well, read on as this “man” in the vision continues speaking to Daniel.

(Daniel 10:12…):“Then he continued, ‘Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.  But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.  Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come.’  While he was saying this to me, I bowed with my face toward the ground and was speechless.”

The further conclusion:  The speaker is Jesus, and since he refers to “Michael” coming to help “me”, Jesus and Michael are NOT one and the same.  Jesus is not Michael the Archangel, as the Watchtower teaches.
